Our design philosophy is based on our belief that natural light enhances the mood and expression of a building. In addition, we consider existing significant features - man-made or natural, and implement our designs based on these characteristics.
J. Graham Goldsmith Architects P.C. was founded in 1983, in Burlington VT, creating a dynamic force in the New England architectural community. Graham has a reputation for quality design on a variety of building types as evidenced by his work on single and multi-family residences, office buildings, and commercial space.
Since its founding, J. Graham Goldsmith Architects, P.C. has completed more than 400 projects due primarily to the strength of a highly qualified staff of architects, interior designers, engineers, and land planners. The firm has become one of the most well respected Architectural firms in the Northeast.
The key to the success of J. Graham Goldsmith Architects lies in the approach to design - efficient use of space, attention to environment, and adherence to budget, our ability to expedite the permit process, and our sensitive, competent and courteous service to our clients.
This philosophy of design has led to challenging projects in diverse areas of commercial, retail and office space; institutional buildings; health care facilities; housing and high-end residential architecture; and historic rehabilitation.

J. Graham Goldsmith, AIA
Founding Partner / Principal Architect
The Architectural Firm began in 1974 after Graham earned college degrees from Syracuse University – Bachelor of Art Degree – 1970, Bachelor of Architecture – 1971 and University of Pennsylvania, Master of Architecture – 1972 and attended the Louis Kahn Studio. Graham is registered as a Professional Architect in the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Florida. Graham is a member of the American Institute of Architects and a member of The National Trust for Historic Preservation
Adam Davis, AIA
Partner / Senior Architect
Adam has worked at JGGA since 2011. He returned home to Vermont several years ago, after completing a Bachelors of Science and Masters degrees in Architecture from Northeastern University. Since joining JGGA, Adam has focused on the residential and club projects, with success working through permitting and design approvals for some of our most challenging projects.
Adam is NCARB Certified and licensed in Vermont, Massachusetts and New York.

Al Nevins
Senior Architect
Al has more than 30 years of experience at JGGA, being involved with private and public projects. He was originally brought on in 1987 to develop the use of computer-aided design within the firm. Al has become a highly effective Project Architect managing some of the firms largest projects. Al has been a registered Architect in the State of Vermont since 1985.
Toby Fuller
Architectural Designer
Toby is an Illinois native drawn to Vermont by its Green Mountains, harrowing skiing and New England charm. With Bachelors of Science degrees from University of Illinois and Vermont Technical College in Architectural Engineering Technology; Toby has joined JGGA as an architectural designer, drafter and visualization artist. Toby's goal is to communicate architectural ideas clearly through traditional drafted documents, building information models and advanced presentation software.
Bailey Devoid
Designer
Bailey joined the team at JGGA in late 2020 after completing a B.S. and Masters degrees in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Linda Cross
Office Manager
Linda has been with JGGA for over 25 years and manages the business needs of the architectural office, as well as the development company, White Cap Ventures.
Arlene Clokey
Office Accountant
Arlene handles the accounting needs for both JGGA and White Cap Ventures.
Kristen Piper
Interior Designer -
Piper Interior Design
